NORD extends the service life of systems: With the IIoT solution DRIVE MONITOR, the drive technology solution provider supports predictive maintenance. 

The operating data of a drive solution continuously provides information on the current state of the components. If they are available within the IIoT, they can be used during condition monitoring for predictive maintenance. That is exactly what the new, modular NORD DRIVE MONITOR IIoT solution for drive solutions from NORD offers.

NORD DRIVE MONITOR continuously provides dynamically calculated and sensor-captured operating values for further processing. This includes phase currents, heat sink temperatures and torques. This data enables users to keep track of the current state of electronic drive systems within a system, allowing anomalies or wear to be detected at an early stage. Maintenance measures become easier to plan, and failures and downtimes are significantly reduced. NORD DRIVE MONITOR can therefore extend the service life of machines and systems as well as streamline production processes and operating costs. 

Ready for use with all common IT infrastructures
How NORD DRIVE MONITOR works: The IIoT solution obtains condition monitoring data from the drive systems. Drive electronics make the recorded data available via a data bus. As all NORD frequency inverters feature an integrated PLC, they can evaluate the drive and sensor data, such as vibrations, based on thresholds. By means of standard technologies such as MQTT or TimescaleDB, NORD DRIVE MONITOR can integrate its data into higher-level systems. The visualisation on a dashboard takes place via Grafana. The NORD solution’s architecture is furthermore modular and scalable. It can thus be adjusted to the respective system size. Provided in Docker containers, NORD DRIVE MONITOR can be used in any IT infrastructure.
