Dolphin - Case Study - Canberra International Airport

Canberra International Airport is a gateway to Australia’s capital city, with over 2,858,000 passengers travelling through the facility each year.

Following the launch of a new terminal in March 2013, the airport is on track to becoming one of the country’s “greenest” airports.

The new terminal covers more than 55,000m² and has been constructed using high quality and long life building materials, absorption chillers that capture and use excess heat, and a 650,000 litre water tank that collects rain and ground water for reuse.

Ensuring the washrooms measured up to the same high sustainability goals was a task Dolphin was more than able to assist with. Architectural Practice Guida Moseley Brown used the ALAVO system together with a washplane and DB425C infrared taps.

The ALAVO system combines smooth clean lines with infrared taps and soap dispensers, high speed hand dryers and paper towel dispensers, all fitted in a stylish modular mirror cabinet, effortlessly meeting the design requirements of any high use commercial washroom environment.
