The new keypad puts complete workflows on keys with their own displays. It runs across all WEYTEC platforms and retrofits existing installations. More than 50,000 installations worldwide qualify.
Switzerland, Unterengstringen, August 15, 2026. In control rooms, air traffic centers and trading floors, seconds decide. Until now, recurring workflows live in menus or on keys with fixed labels. Menus cover the live picture. Fixed keys do not show what they trigger. Operators under pressure need both: instant access and certainty of hitting the right key.
This is where smartKEYS comes in. Each of the 15 keys carries its own LCD. The key shows its function as text and icon, confirms execution with a color highlight and changes its assignment per page and task. One key holds a complete workflow: switch sources, recall a layout, change the video wall, run a macro. An example from air traffic control: one key swaps the radar picture, the second brings up the weather, the third switches the video wall to full screen. The operator presses, sees the confirmation on the key and keeps the situation in view.

The second part of the announcement concerns the installed base. With the new USB Hub Adapter Card, WEYTEC connects the keypad to existing receivers, down to receiver level. Customers retrofit workplaces that have run for years, without rebuilding the solution. During predefined workflows the on screen display stays closed. Critical data remains visible while the operator acts.
