This March, the international airport ground handling community converges in Singapore for GHI Asia’s 17th Ground Handling International Conference & Exhibition — a key forum for advancing operations, safety, and best practice across the region. This event remains one of the most influential platforms in Asia for practical discussions around the safety and efficiency of apron operations, bringing together airlines, ground handlers, regulators, and suppliers under one roof.
Alongside our exhibition floor presence, CEO David O’Connell will be speaking in a dedicated session on Safety Culture and Just Culture frameworks, drawing on practical experience from live operational environments.

David’s session, “It’s time we had a serious talk about safety culture on the Asian apron,” asks an important question: when cultural norms around hierarchy and deference dampen open reporting of risks, are operators truly capturing and addressing the behaviours that jeopardise safety? The talk invites regional leaders to reflect on how incentives, penalties, and organisational norms can either support or undermine a proactive safety culture, and how frontline teams can be empowered to speak up confidently when safety is at stake.
By contributing to these critical conversations, dBD Communications is not just sharing technology — we’re actively engaging with the human and cultural factors that shape safer, more effective operations across the Asia Pacific.
