During Ground Handling International Asia in Singapore, GUINAULT officially signed a 5-year contract on April 1st, 2026 with SATS Ltd. Singapore Hub for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Ground Power Units (GPU), Air Start Units (ASU), and Air Conditioning Units (ACU).
SATS LTD. released the following announcement on Linkedin:
SATS Singapore Hub has awarded contracts to Guinault, TLD, and Weihai Guangtai for more than 200 firm orders of new motorised ground support equipment (GSE) – these are specialised commercial vehicles that support airport operations.
These contracts are part of our ongoing effort to renew and expand SG Hub’s GSE fleet deployed at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
Contracts were signed on the sidelines of the Asian Ground Handling International trade show and conference, which took place in Singapore earlier this week.
The GSE fleet enhancements include electric pushback tractors across the small‑ to mid‑size categories, new electric skyloaders, and passenger stairs to serve aircraft at remote bays without aerobridges.
These investments will support our hub renewal and expansion ambitions, while accelerating our decarbonisation journey across our targeted GSE fleets for cleaner, more environmentally-friendly operations.
The new GSEs will feature the latest safety, performance, and digital features. Such enhancements will enable us to deliver safe, more efficient and reliable services to our customers at Changi Airport, which is one of the world’s busiest air hubs.
The contracts inked represent part of SATS’ investment of over S$250 million for Singapore Hub to upgrade its ground operations and cargo handling infrastructure at Changi Airport.
These strategic initiatives will enhance safety and operational reliability, optimise turnaround times, and support growing cargo volumes at Changi Airport through to the mid-2030s when the new Terminal 5 and Changi East Industrial Zone are projected to commence operations.
At the same time, the experience and lessons gained in Singapore from operating the new assets can be shared across SATS’ global network which spans 27 countries, to help us enhance GSE fleet management and operational capabilities as #OneSATS.
Big thanks to Singapore’s aviation ecosystem, especially Changi Airport Group and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, and all our industry partners as we continue our journey towards introducing a bigger, more sustainable, and future-ready GSE fleet to serve airport users better.
