Efficient and powerful solutions for pumps, mixers and agitators

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will be exhibiting at the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management in Munich. The innovative system provider will present its drive solutions to the industry at IFAT 2026. 

In water, sewage, waste and recycling management processes, efficiency and reliability determine operating costs. Drive solutions from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS are designed for energy efficiency and high availability in harsh environments. They can be integrated as OEM components or retrofitted into existing systems. NORD’s range of modular products provides everything that is required to keep environmental technology applications running safely. 

Drive solutions for various applications
In shredders or pumps, NORD gear units with one-piece UNICASE housings and reinforced bearings ensure system reliability – even during 24/7 operation in harsh environments. The optional NSD5 surface treatment developed by NORD provides additional protection against corrosion.

In water screws, 3-stage helical bevel gear units of the MAXXDRIVE^® XC industrial gear units series offer constant torques up to 282 kNm. They even enable large volumes of water to be transported at low conveying heights. The NSD5 surface treatment provides protection against corrosion; the NORD sealing system prevents the ingress of water.

For use in crushers/shredders, MAXXDRIVE^® industrial gear units can be equipped with reinforced input shafts and overload couplings; the torsionally rigid one-piece UNICASE™ housing also accommodates large roller bearings. The drive withstands external shock loads, high torques and sudden loads that occur when crushing the materials.

High-efficiency NORD IE5+ motors are used as drives in screw pumps, for example, and offer reliable performance across the entire adjustment range – even when operated 24/7. In combination with low-ratio gear units from NORD, low energy consumption can also be achieved in partial-load operations.

Constructions such as the SAFOMI adapter reduce the number of attachment parts: The integrated oil expansion chamber makes oil hoses and the radial shaft seal that is prone to leakage and wear superfluous. The combination of MAXXDRIVE^® industrial gear unit, SAFOMI-IEC adapter and drive motor creates a compact solution for mixer and agitator applications for reducing wear parts.

NORD also delivers numerous drive components as explosion-protected ATEX versions. NORD is a certified manufacturer and has decades of experience with explosion-protected drive technology.

Competent advice, exchange at eye level
At IFAT 2026, visitors can see NORD’s extensive range of services such as the NORD ECO service for themselves: It allows the system efficiency to be determined during ongoing operation. The collected data forms the basis for determining the most efficient drive solution consisting of motor, gear unit and inverter.

A new IIoT solution for the field of condition monitoring also sparks interest: NORD DRIVE MONITOR continuously provides dynamically calculated and sensor-captured operating values for further processing. Users can keep constant track of electronic drive systems. Anomalies or wear can be identified at an early stage, planning of maintenance measures is improved (predictive maintenance) and failures and downtimes are reduced. NORD DRIVE MONITOR can extend the service life of machines and systems as well as streamline production processes and operating costs.
