At Seafood Expo, NORD will demonstrate how the fish processing industry benefits from durable drive systems with NXD tupH®. Image: NORD DRIVESYSTEMS
In fish processing, moisture and salt turn system availability into a particularly demanding task. At Seafood Expo in Barcelona, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will demonstrate how its NXD tupH® surface treatment protects its aluminium drive solutions against such influences. The result is reliable and durable drive systems that also offer the industry advantages in terms of (economic) efficiency.
Industrial fish processing calls for speed. Several hundred kilograms of fish per hour are cut up, deboned and prepared for sale. System reliability is a top priority for ensuring the quality of the perishable raw goods. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will demonstrate how this can be managed using powerful, energy-efficient and, above all, durable drive solutions at Seafood Expo from 21 to 23 April 2026 in Barcelona. At Stand 1A605 in Hall 1, visitors can experience NORD’s drive components with hygienic design in person and see for themselves how powerful the NXD tupH® surface treatment is.
NXD tupH®: Makes aluminium comparable to stainless steel
NXD tupH® is a powerful surface protection, which makes aluminium comparable to stainless steel in terms of hygiene and corrosion resistance. The technology combines a special surface treatment with a high-performance sealer. The result is a food-safe, non-porous surface that can be cleaned hygienically and neither flakes off nor corrodes even after numerous cleaning cycles. In the demanding operating environments of fish processing, users can therefore benefit from powerful and lightweight aluminium drives with flexible configuration from NORD’s portfolio.
At the stand: Powerful and hygienic aluminium components
On site in Barcelona: drive components with hygienic housing design that are characterised by round contours, smooth surfaces and powerful seals. This allows for hygienic and fast cleaning, which reduces downtimes. For particularly demanding environments, their surface protection can be additionally improved with the food-safe NXD tupH®.
The range of exhibited components includes fanless IE5+ synchronous motors. With their high efficiency, they ensure optimum overall system performance. They form the basis for the integrated DuoDrive gear unit/motor concept, which not only offers high system efficiency but also simple plug-and-play commissioning with short downtimes. With NORDAC ON PURE, NORD also presents a decentralised frequency inverter designed for hygienic applications. Ethernet on board, hybrid cables and daisy chain technology enable efficient and hygienic topologies that are more streamlined and easier to clean than conventional decentralised wiring. Numerous stop and motion functions are already integrated and provide powerful performance even without an encoder.
Lecture session on the first trade fair day
NORD will demonstrate which advantages are offered to users with the NXD tupH® surface treatment as part of a sponsored session on 21 April 2026. The solution provider will provide detailed explanations on the technology, its manufacturing principle and its application.
