First Edition Of Airport Solutions Mexico Hailed A Success

The inaugural edition of Airport Solutions closed after two days of lively discussions that have left many attendees keen for the next edition. The event saw 1,024 visitors and 105 delegates attend to hear presentations from industry experts such as Jorge Romero, Deputy Director General of Air Safety, SCT, Fabrizio Martin, Product Line Manager, Thales Group and Haakan Anderson, Director of Airports, Unisys, among others.

The only conference of its kind where supply meets demand, the attendees represented all sectors of the airports industry including airport construction and design, airlines, cargo and freight and security and emergency systems. With an infrastructure renewal program of 170 million dollars in Latin America, as well as the construction of a new and modern airport in Mexico City with a value of approximately $9.2 billion, Airport Solutions provided a platform to connect providers with decision makers as well as the opportunity to evaluate various key issues and solutions.

Topics discussed ranged from outlook on government policy and regulations in the airport sector to airport safety and security and passenger experience. In addition, the creating green airports presentation examined the opportunities and challenges of implementing green technologies as the industry moves towards sustainable and economic design and construction in new projects.

Attendees were also able to interact with key industry players in the exhibition, where market leaders such as Rockwell Collins and Schneider Electric were presenting their latest technologies available.

Airport Solutions Mexico is part of the Airport Solutions Global Series, which will continue throughout 2017 with Airport Solutions Dubai (November 2018) and Airport Solutions Indonesia (December 2018), with Airport Solutions Turkey coming in Spring 2018.
