Self-Service Under The Microscope At Passenger Terminal CONFERENCE
Press Release Date | 05.02.2016 |
---|
John Newsome, Director of Information Technology, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, who shared at last year’s conference how Orlando International Airport’s pre-flight passenger and baggage processing facilities have been comprehensively reimagined and redesigned, is returning this year to take a closer look at the opportunity presented by ever more sophisticated self-service technologies.
Titled ‘Design of integrated passenger self-services at Orlando International Airport’, the presentation will be a key highlight of the dedicated Technology: Passenger Processing, Trends In Check-in & Self-Service session, on Wednesday 16 March 2016.
“As the aviation industry continues to rapidly adopt passenger self-service opportunities, there is a growing need to design and deploy these functions in an integrated process across the entire passenger journey,” explains Newsome. “This presentation provides a focus to the airport operator, airline and key airport stakeholders in improving the passenger’s journey through the entire air-travel experience, and will define the requirements for, and benefits of, a well-established Integrated Passenger Self-Services Programme (IPSSP).”
John, who has been Director of Information Technology for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) since 1987, will share his presentation with Frank Barich, Founder and Principal of consulting firm, Barich Inc. Frank currently serves on the steering committee for ACI-North America Business Information Technology, and is a member of the ACI World IT Standing Committee, as well as serving on the IATA Common Use Working Group.
