Inaugural Passenger Terminal Expo Asia to bring together more than 3,500 aviation industry professionals
With Asia a key engine of global aviation growth, airport leaders, government officials and technology specialists will gather in Singapore next month for the inaugural Passenger Terminal Expo Asia (PTE Asia), taking place on 23–24 September 2026 at Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of National Development, will attend as Guest of Honour and deliver the opening address. The event is expected to bring together more than 3,500 industry professionals, 200 expert speakers and 125 exhibitors focused on airport development, operations, security, sustainability and passenger experience.
The gathering comes as airports across Asia and the Middle East prepare for sustained traffic growth and a major new investment cycle. Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East forecasts passenger traffic to grow annually by 4.8% in Asia-Pacific and 5.4% in the Middle East between 2025 and 2028.
Major disclosed airport developments and expansion programmes across Southeast Asia represent at least US$40 billion in investment extending into the early-to-mid-2030s, with substantial additional spending expected on aircraft, airport technology, air-traffic systems and supporting infrastructure.
From infrastructure to intelligent operations
PTE Asia will examine how airports are managing future growth with safety, resilience, accessibility and service as core focus areas. The programme covers connected passenger experience, intelligent airport operations, sustainability and climate leadership, investment and commercial revenue, airport planning, future-proof master planning and advanced air mobility.
The technologies helping airports meet this growth will be central to the event, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, biometrics and digital identity, automation and smart operations, next-generation security and baggage systems, sustainable airport technologies and digital passenger-experience solutions.
Dominic Pinfold, Event Director, Passenger Terminal Expo Asia, said: “The growth figures are compelling, but the real challenge is how airports translate investment into capacity, resilience and a better passenger journey. Singapore is an ideal place for airport leaders from Asia, the Middle East and beyond to compare what is working, examine emerging technology and build the partnerships needed for the next phase of growth.”
Key sponsors and exhibitors include AIS-Hill, Vanderlande, Rapiscan Systems, SJ Group, Mitsubishi Elevator, Populous, find inc, Copenhagen Optimization, TAV Technologies, Analogic Corporation, DXC Technology, and Garrett, representing fields ranging from terminal design and baggage handling to security screening, vertical transport, passenger flow and airport technology.
New ways to experience and capture innovation
Across every conference theatre, Snapsight will provide AI-generated session summaries, searchable insights, live captions and multilingual transcripts in dozens of languages via QR code. Dynamic Idea Clouds will also show the themes emerging across the event, helping delegates follow discussions running in parallel and revisit content after sessions.
Registered delegates can also express interest in two limited-capacity Changi Airport Group tours: a 22 September session exploring plans for the next-generation smart terminal, and a 25 September behind-the-scenes tour of FAST – Fast and Seamless Travel – examining how technology and automation support a smoother passenger journey. Tour registration is separate and attendance is subject to confirmation.
