Solve the problem of bag centering for high throughputs

ALSTEF will be showcasing BAGXenter, a new concept that solves the problem of bag centering and re-orientation for high throughputs.

In order to avoid any bag hazards while feeding continuous elevators, destination coded vehicles, screening machines or totes systems, it can be necessary to check the position and the orientation of the bag on the belt, and then to center or turn it to introduce it to the machine in an optimal manner.

BAGXenter combines an activated roller belt conveyor to center the bag in the middle of the conveyor belt, digital cameras associated to a dedicated software to analyse the bag orientation and apply any correction, with a conveyor combining two modular belts with variable independent speeds to re-orientate the bag.

The company says that the great advantage of this system compared to all the other similar technologies is that each BAGXenter system has a capacity of 1200 bags per hour: the different steps (analyse, centering, reorientation) are done without slowing the flow of bags (up to 1 m/s) so that the throughput is not disturbed.
