X-ray curtains for airport cargo scanners and other shipping facilities are available in both lead and lead-free versions. We offer both partial sets to replace worn or torn curtains, or full custom replacement sets for any x-ray inspection system. Cargo Scanners are usually loaded near floor level and have openings large enough to accept pallets and crates.

Typical curtain shields used for cargo scanner radiation protection have lead equivalent protection levels from 0.5 mm Pb to 1.0 mm Pb. Multiple layers are needed to offer full protection.  These curtains require extreme tear resistance and the highest tensile strength of all shielding curtains.

Our lead-free curtains for cargo scanners are an optimized bismuth blend which provides improved shielding for the higher energy radiation emitted by cargo scanners. Available tensile strengths exceed 2,000 N per 100 mm wide strip, allowing for a pull force equivalent of over 200 kg.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

Available in lead and lead-free versions in flexible, strengthened elastomeric matrix. Lead-free shielding typically uses bismuth or tungsten to block the higher energy x-rays.

Cargo Scanner Shielding Curtains certified to 300 kVp according to DIN 61331-1 and ASTM 2547-18
