Jet Fuel Vapor Recovery Unit for Airport

Description
Specifications

In 2025, with over 4,300 commercial airports worldwide, aviation fuel handling systems face vapor losses during loading and unloading. Without vapor recovery, the average loss rate is about 0.005% (5×10⁻⁵). By adopting vapor recovery systems at tank farms and loading bays, this can be reduced to 0.0005% (5×10⁻⁶), significantly improving efficiency.

Based on a global jet fuel turnover of 386 million tonnes in 2025, this reduction could prevent around 17,370 tonnes of fuel loss annually, while cutting over 50,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions and delivering substantial economic and environmental benefits.

Product Overview

The Shenling Jet Fuel Vapor Recovery Unit is a specialized emission control solution developed for capturing jet fuel vapors during transfer and storage to reduce VOC emissions. The unit features high safety and operational reliability, assured regulatory compliance, ultra-low energy consumption, and an extended service life, delivering both significant environmental benefits and strong long-term economic value.

Product Features

  1. Safety Design and Compliance Certification

All pipelines and pressure-containing vessels in contact with jet fuel are designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable pressure vessel and pressure piping codes, with a design pressure of 1.0 MPa. The unit has obtained full-system explosion-proof certification, rated Ex d IIB T4. In addition, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments have been carried out to further enhance the intrinsic safety level of the equipment.

  1. High-Efficiency Jet Fuel Vapor Recovery Process

Targeting the characteristics of aviation jet fuel vapors, the unit adopts a combined adsorption and condensation process to efficiently capture and concentrate fuel vapors, which are then liquefied and recovered through condensation. The overall recovery efficiency exceeds 99%, significantly surpassing relevant national standards in China.

  1. Fully Automated One-Touch Operation System

The unit is equipped with a one-touch start/stop function for easy operation and supports fully automated operation without the need for manual intervention, ensuring a high level of automation and operational efficiency.

  1. Ultra-Low Power Consumption

The unit’s specific power consumption for vapor treatment is approximately 0.1 kW per cubic meter of processed fuel vapor, significantly reducing overall power consumption and lowering operating and maintenance costs.

  1. Extended Service Life

The unit employs high-efficiency coal-based activated carbon specifically developed for jet fuel/aviation kerosene vapor treatment. Key components are sourced from globally recognized brands with proven long-term reliability, ensuring a component service life of over 8 years. In addition, through Shenling’s strict control over design, manufacturing, and quality inspection processes, the overall unit is engineered to achieve a service life exceeding 20 years.

  1. Integrated Design

The unit adopts a highly integrated skid-mounted design, featuring a compact footprint that enhances flexibility in on-site layout planning. It requires minimal civil work and site modification, enabling rapid installation and commissioning while ensuring stable and efficient long-term operation.
