MF/HF Solid State Transmitter – 1 kW (TX1000A)

Description
Specifications

The TX1000A is a fully solid-state 1 kW MF/HF transmitter designed for continuous-duty operation in critical communication environments such as airports, ATC support services, coastal stations, and military or governmental networks.

The transmitter operates over the full HF spectrum from 2 to 30 MHz using broadband architecture, allowing instantaneous frequency changes with 1 Hz resolution and without the need for mechanical tuning. This enables fast channel switching and high availability in operational scenarios where downtime is not acceptable.

The system is based on a modular design composed of a digital exciter, solid-state power amplifier and power supply modules, simplifying maintenance and minimizing Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). The exciter is fully digital and supports both voice and data transmissions, including telephony, data links and NAVTEX services.

The TX1000A includes embedded SELCAL (Selective Calling) with 32-tone capability, enabling selective alerting and automated call initiation in aeronautical HF communication networks, improving operational efficiency and reducing continuous listening requirements for flight crews and operators.

The transmitter can be controlled locally or remotely via Ethernet or RS-232 interfaces and supports analog 600-ohm audio inputs as well as VoIP connectivity through external ED-137 compatible gateways, making it suitable for integration into modern IP-based ATC communication infrastructures.

Integrated measurement and protection systems include built-in wattmeter for forward/reflected power and SWR monitoring, ensuring safe operation and antenna system supervision. The transmitter tolerates SWR levels up to 3:1 and supports power derating for operation at reduced output levels when required.

Mechanically, the transmitter is housed in an anticorrosive aluminium cabinet suitable for harsh environmental conditions such as coastal and airport installations, with operation in high humidity and wide temperature ranges.

With its combination of broadband RF design, digital signal processing, SELCAL support, IP integration capability and robust mechanical construction, the TX1000A provides a reliable long-term solution for HF ground communications in aviation and other mission-critical infrastructures.
