MF/HF Solid State Transmitter – 2.5 kW (TX2500A)

The TX2500A is a fully solid-state 2.5 kW MF/HF transmitter designed for continuous-duty operation in critical communication environments such as airport ground stations, ATC support services, coastal radio sites and military or governmental communication networks.

Operating over the full HF spectrum from 2 to 30 MHz using broadband architecture, the transmitter allows instantaneous frequency changes with 1 Hz resolution and does not require mechanical tuning. This enables rapid channel switching and high system availability in operational scenarios where service continuity is essential.

The transmitter is built using a modular design composed of a fully digital exciter, solid-state linear power amplifier and dedicated power supply modules, allowing simplified maintenance, fast field replacement and reduced Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

The TX2500A supports voice and data services including telephony, data transmission and NAVTEX operation. It also includes embedded SELCAL (Selective Calling) with 32-tone capability, enabling selective alerting and automated call initiation in aeronautical HF communication networks, reducing operator workload and continuous listening requirements.

Local and remote operation are supported via Ethernet or RS-232 interfaces, and audio can be provided through standard 600-ohm balanced or unbalanced analog inputs, as well as via VoIP when connected to external ED-137 compatible gateways. This allows seamless integration into modern IP-based Voice Communication Systems (VCS) used in airport and ATC environments.

Integrated protection and monitoring functions include a built-in wattmeter for forward and reflected power as well as SWR supervision, ensuring safe operation and continuous antenna system monitoring. The transmitter tolerates SWR levels up to 3:1 and supports selectable reduced output power levels to match operational and regulatory requirements.

The equipment is housed in an anticorrosive aluminium cabinet suitable for harsh environmental conditions, including high humidity and coastal installations, making it appropriate for outdoor or semi-outdoor airport radio facilities.

With broadband RF design, digital signal processing, embedded SELCAL capability, VoIP readiness and rugged mechanical construction, the TX2500A provides a reliable and scalable HF transmission solution for aviation and other mission-critical communication infrastructures.
