Tex Maxiview Glazing

Description

Tex Maxiview is the high performance glazing system used for air traffic control rooms. The design inputs and specialist configurations guarantee the maximum field of view and a high-performance glazing solution.

Maximum optical clarity is achieved using high-performance Tex Maxiview, set at a slanted angle of 15° to minimise distracting reflections within the cab. Tex Maxiview is a multi-part laminate comprising an outer layer of green-tinted glass, inner layer(s) of clear glass and inter-layers of Polyvinyl butyral that carry the ultra-fine heating elements for demisting and removing condensation. The heating elements are thermostatically controlled and supplied complete with digital controller and central control panel. Tex Maxiview glazing is configured specifically to the locality and prevailing conditions to ensure optimum performance.

Tex Maxiview is chemically toughened to ensure against thermal shock and to assure adequate glass performance at the specified design loads including seismic loading, positive wind loading and negative wind loading (suction). Numerous factors are controlled, such as optical clarity, transmittance, outdoor reflectance, indoor reflectance, UV transmittance, absorption, solar control, shading coefficient, U-value, acoustic attenuation, thermal insulation, power consumption and heat performance.

Also available, Maxiview Tempest from Tex Special Projects, ultra-high specification glazing with the added benefits of blast/impact resistance and electromagnetic shielding (EMI/RF) for the purpose of preventing data theft/hacking. Winner of the BAE Systems Innovation Award for unique control room glass.

TEX ATC bespoke air traffic control cab/room designs are site-specific and expertly engineered to achieve the maximum field of view. Structural steel posts are minimised, window apertures are maximised, and cantilevered structures and reinforcements are brought into the equation. Supersized trapezoidal glazing panels and fine butt joint glazing are used to eliminate horizontal and vertical mullions.
