Specialists in handling and lifting equipments, REEL will present its docking and access systems for the maintenance of wide-body jetliners and medium-range airliners at the Airport Show in Dubai.
Qatar Airways has entrusted REEL with the realisation of all the maintenance equipments for its Doha-based fleet. This includes two heavy-duty maintenance stations compatible with Airbus and Boeing jetliners, including the A380. Another heavy-duty maintenance station, but compatible with aircraft in the A320 family, will also be delivered. The docking systems will also feature all the light maintenance accesses for the entire fleet. These achievements are the natural follow-up to 45 year’s experience with major airlines.
Heavily involved in the Airbus development programmes, RÉEL has constructed assembly stations for the A330 and A340, the test and finishing stations for the A380 and the complete assembly line for the future A350. At the heart of the aeronautics industry, REEL can thus offer the most efficient solutions in terms of industrial resources.
REEL develops, manufactures, installs and maintains complex handling systems integrated into the core processes of its clients, in various areas worldwide. In the aeronautics sector, REEL develops dedicated systems tailored to its clients’ requirements, whatever the type of aircraft and the building’s constraints. So it can design aircraft-specific equipment or deploy flexible equipment adaptable to different aircraft. REEL has among other things designed and manufactured equipment for aircraft maintenance, stripping and paintwork.
Very early on the company distinguished itself by creating an aerial work platform capable of rotating through 360° on a suspended carriage-mounted telescopic mast. This innovation coincided with the advent of wide-body jetliners, for which the equipment of the time was ill-suited. Since then, the company has constantly innovated to adapt as best it can to the development of aeronautical technologies.
REEL’s Aeronautics department is present at a number of airports worldwide, including Orly, Roissy, Narita (Tokyo), Heathrow (United Kingdom). It heads numerous projects, such as the maintenance hall equipment for Air France’s A380 at Roissy–Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
The Group has expanded internationally and has firmly established itself in several key sectors of industry. Faithful to its original core business, lifting and handling with overhead travelling cranes, the Group has pursued a development strategy in line with market changes. It thus strives to offer a comprehensive range of services in each sector, from design to commissioning and maintenance.
