Air Traffic Control Tower and Visual Control Rooms, Radar Structures

“I would like to place on record my thanks for the professional manner in which you and your team dealt with the design, supply and installation of the Visual Control Unit at Jersey Airport. I was particularly impressed in the early stages of the design process with the level of detail provided which allowed us to design the new tower in the knowledge that the VCR would fit.

With any new building programmes do alter for one reason or another and you and your team adapted to suit these revisions. Once on site with all components to hand the complicated structural elements were assembled, hoisted into position and erected at the top of the tower, with amazing speed. This was quickly followed by the fiberglass roof canopy, the insertion of the special 16 panels of heated glass, and finally the raised floor. All of this was undertaken within the period allocated in your own construction programme.

I am sure there must have been numerous detail issues which you resolved during construction however as far as I am concerned this critical part of the contract went without a hitch.

Whilst we are still within the defects liability period I am confident the work carried out under your nominated sub contract agreement will prove to be satisfactory for this period and beyond. I would have no hesitation in recommending ABP to any other client or architect considering the design and construction of a new Visual Control Tower.”
