In a Letter of Intent signed at the end of June 2012, the German air navigation service provider DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung and the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of Civil Aviation Administration of China agreed to intensify their cooperation. In future, DFS will support the ATMB by providing consultancy services, operational and technical concepts as well as training services. The core issues include new technologies, airspace utilisation and quality and safety management.

Wang Liya, Director General of the ATMB, and Dieter Kaden, Chairman and CEO of DFS, signed the Letter of Intent in Langen, Germany. DFS and ATMB have already been cooperating for several years in the training of Chinese specialists in air traffic management as well as safety management.

"We are very happy about this Letter of Intent because it is a clear confirmation of our successful cooperation of the past years", said Dieter Kaden. "Since Germany has the highest air traffic volume in Europe, we have the necessary know-how to support our Chinese colleagues in managing considerable air traffic growth," he continued.

This cooperation is to enhance capacity, efficiency and the safety of civil aviation in China.
