SITA has established a new scholarship at the Civil Aviation University of China. This is the first scholarship program that SITA has established in China. Its aim is to help talented young civil aviation students to focus their study and research on science and technology related to the air transport industry.

The SITA Scholarship is open to the University’s students in the schools of Computer Science and Technology; Economics and Management Science; Civil Aviation Management; and Electronics and Information. Each year in October, the Scholarship Award Committee will review and select 20 winners, who will each be awarded a scholarship to cover one year’s academic fees.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at the University, May Zhou, Vice President and General Manager of SITA China, said:  “It has been proven that people are the most important resources in determining the competitiveness of an organization. SITA is collaborating with China’s Civil Aviation University to cultivate experts for China’s civil aviation industry, in particular, in the areas of management and information systems. This will help China’s civil aviation industry to build a solid foundation for its strategic evolution and internationalization in the global environment.”

After the event, Xu Tao, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology and his team had a separate meeting with SITA to discuss the opportunities for further cooperation in the future.

This program is part of SITA’s global initiative to support young students of the air transport industry and is a key element of SITA’s corporate social responsibility program. It establishes an important relationship with this leading university and solidifies SITA’s commitment to the air transport industry in China.
