Aircraft Control Hearing Protection Headsets / Hear-/Talk Solutions for Professionals

The traffic density at both airports and airspace in European is extremely high. Misunderstandings between Air Traffic Controlers and Pilots can lead to serious consequences. A clear understanding is therefore crucial and the communication facilities, a safety factor.

Therefore Imtradex show their headsets at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, Booth 209. The headsets are specially designed for the communication solutions of the demanding users in Air Traffic Control. In the luggage the market leader in the ATC area has the models AirTalk 3000 Series, AirTalk XS/XD, AirTalk XSN and AirTalk NBS/NBD. “Our headsets contribute to the individual requirements in aviation and are already in use at airports/ATC centers worldwide and in many cockpits. In the processing of our headsets for the ATC sector, we only use high quality acoustic components. This way our communication tools achieve the performance that the users in the ATC area need, to ensure the quality in listening and speaking” says Ralf Kudernak, Managing Director of Imtradex GmbH.

The headsets convince with their high wearing comfort and the crystal clear sound. They are light weight and comfortable, tough and flexible designed to cope with stressful situations as well, and have noise cancelling microphones. The noise cancelling technology (NC) filters in conjunction with the likewise integrated Acoustic Shock Protection (ASP) reliable interference and protects against excessive sound pressure levels. All AirTalk models are equipped with high-quality CoolMax® ear cushions, which with their special fibers and incorporated surface channels they ensure a comfortable fit and for a maximum breathability.

AirTalk 3000 Series
The focus of the exhibition will be on the AirTalk 3000 models. They are: AirTalk 3000 XS available in monaural and as AirTalk 3000 XD in a binaural version. With the binaural AirTalk 3000 XD variant, Imtradex has also developed a version in which only one cable – instead of two otherwise – leading to the headset. This increases the wearing comfort, and this is once again an important feature of all headsets in the AirTalk 3000 series. “Also the handling in everyday life is considerably simplified for the users. Especially given the fact that in the area of air traffic control where they need to communicate permanent and highly concentrated over long periods of time, the optimization is an added value in two ways”, explains Ralf Kudernak.

With AirTalk 3000 XS/XD Flex Imtradex is also presenting the youngest member of the AirTalk 3000 family. The communication tool, which is available in monaural (XS) and binaural (XD) variant, is characterized by a flexible microphone boom. As a result, users can align the microphone to his mouth without effort, and voice transmission is further improved.

Headsets: AirTalk XSN as well as AirTalk NBS/NBD

The AirTalk XSN convince by the successful combination of light weight and ergonomic design: The neckband of the AirTalk XSN is united by its extremely low weight, a special stability and flexibility, all qualities that make a modern headset. A rotatable suspended earpiece with interchangeable ear cushions made of synthetic leather ensures comfortable, fatigue-free working. With the monaural or binaural neckband headsets AirTalk NBS / NBD, the Open-Ear-Gain technology was used. Here, the ear is not covered by a listener or closed by an ear olive. The received signals are passed through a hearing tube in front of the ear. This technique enhances the natural way to increase the intelligibility of speech sounds, without the overall volume.
