Dreieich 26th March 2012 – the digital radio age began with the two methods Tetra and Tetrapol. Among experts, there is only a matter of time before security agencies such as police, fire and rescue services will work without analogue radio. One of the reasons is that the digital radio communication is not limited to one organization only. Instead communicate across agencies will be realized via voice and data.

The privacy is secured with specific encryption mechanisms required in the Tetra standard. Dead spots, weather-related problems or an overload of radio channels is with digital radio no longer a problem. In addition the individual as well as the group communication is possible within a defined group of participants.

Coming back to the latest innovations in technology it is from great importance to focus on a complete solution. Acquiring a digital radio does not necessarily guarantee professional communication due to the lack of the compatible digital radio accessories. This is indicated by Imtradex Hör-/Sprechsysteme GmbH, a leading provider of innovative communications solutions. The standard laid down in the tetra-functionality must be supported by the digital radio accessories, and so facilitate the use of the new digital devices. These include, above all, the headsets which have to be compatible with the radio and plug used. Using the not – compatible headset there will be periodic noise, similar to the sounds of a mobile phone while during the same time use analogue phone: "The use of an adapter is not enough. In digital radio the transmission frequencies in the MHz band is much higher as the ones used in analog radio. It therefore requires innovative screening methods to prevent the digital radio not to interfere with analog radio communications," said Ralf Kudernak, managing director of Imtradex Hör-/Sprechsysteme GmbH. All analog headset of the company, such as NB 2000, FireTalk etc., have already for years, been adapted to the digital radio technology

"In addition, we developed our Aurelis Handheld Microphone specifically designed for the use with digital radio standard. We address the different requirements from users," reports Ralf Kudernak. And on the basis of the basic models we produce customized versions with the functions required from the customer. Some of the basic configuration of the handheld microphone Aurelis are: a transmit button, microphone, high-quality speakers, an emergency call button, three-level volume control and a freely programmable LED.
