Aircraft Ground Support Equipment and Services

1) A focused organisational structure ensures the ability of AMSS to design and manufacture bespoke equipment rapidly.

AMSS received a requirement for a Passenger Stair not available from within the product range. AMSS designed and manufactured the 300T Self Propelled Passenger Stair within 7 weeks from order placement to delivery. Numerous units have since been ordered due to the success of this vehicle.

2) Cost constraints on new capital expenditure limits both civilian and military agencies in their ability to replace ageing fleets.

At AMSS we provide comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul for all existing equipment where economically viable. This service can be provided at both our own facility or, where required, on-site worldwide. Our Field Engineers received information regarding 2 ATLAS Loaders, which had been damaged beyond economical repair in Central Africa. AMSS manufactured a new vehicle chassis and sent it to the region followed by a Field Service Engineering Team. The team, utilising serviceable parts from each of the two damaged loaders, successfully rebuilt a serviceable vehicle on-site within 3 weeks.

3) Military & civilian organisations are under pressure to reduce equipment fleet sizes placing placing emphasis on the importance of equipment reliability.

Following complete refurbishment and upgrade, an ATLAS loader was returned to Afghanistan. Soon after delivery, an urgent technical support enquiry was received indicating a problem with the equipment. Telephone advice was provided, but it was clear that a presence on site was required. Within 24 hours, an AMSS Field Engineer was on site in Afghanistan. The loader was found to be fully serviceable; the problem was due to operator error, but this clearly demonstrated our capabilities in providing rapid product support response.

4) Military and civilian organisations are constantly under pressure to reduce equipment fleet sizes placing greater emphasis on the importance of equipment reliability, correct maintenance and rapid fault rectification.

We received an urgent product support enquiry for a Universal Fuel Tank Repair Trolley from a South East Asian customer. A number of aircraft required repair and the rapid rectification of the trolley was vital to the operation. AMSS immediately dispatched a Field Engineer to assist in the repair. The trolley was duly returned to service 34 hours following the phone call. During the process all maintainers were re-trained to ensure scheduled maintenance would be correctly carried out in the future.
