Rubb Buildings Ltd was tasked with the design, manufacture and delivery of the 32m span x 40m long sports building which includes two internal beach volleyball courts, complete with sand pits to represent a beach environment.
The facility has sidewalls of 10.8m and boasts a clear playing height of 10m inside.

Multi sports hall wins praise at finishing line
The 42m x 69m sports building, with 7.5m sidewalls, can cater for a wide variety of sports including badminton, netball, basketball, tennis, football, trampolining and hockey.
It can be converted to accommodate 12 badminton courts, eight basketball courts, three five-a-side pitches, eight volleyball courts or four tennis courts. The layout is interchangeable.

Rubb hub takes centre court
Gateshead based Rubb Buildings Ltd beat off competition to become the main subcontractor responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the facility at Budehaven Community School, a specialist sports college.
Rubb came onboard after main contractor Leadbitter won the contract following a competitive tender process.

Meadowbank Arena hosts schools' sporting activities
The facility is a hybrid structure constructed with a traditionally built brick amenities block integrated into a Rubb Building with a PVC fabric roof to let in natural light, and steel clad sidewalls.
Mounted along one side and one end is a viewing platform comprising 450 stadium seats. This top regional venue regularly caters for a wide range of indoor sports activities and events.
