Contract covers CF6-80C2 engine support for the American airline's cargo fleet.

AFI KLM E&M and National Airlines, which have already been working together for over three years, are to continue their partnership after the American airline decided to renew its contract with its MRO services provider. AFI KLM E&M will, as a result, continue to deliver engine support services for the CF6-80C2 power plants equipping the two Boeing 747-400BCF airplanes operated by National Airlines. In addition to carrying out shop visits, the services provided will also include the provision of spare engines during maintenance operations.

Trust and transparency

For the past three years, the two partners have built up a trust-based relationship which the US carrier particularly appreciates as it brings it the benefit of maximum transparency and control over costs and any adjustments to shop visit operations. The support offered and delivered by AFI KLM E&M goes beyond straightforward engine maintenance services to also take in technical assistance for line- or hangar-based maintenance operations.
