Maintenance contract with dedicated clause for engine repairs in Siberia.

Paris, Amstelveen, 23 November 2012 – AFI KLM E&M signed a long term repair and maintenance contract covering Vladivostok Air's A320 engines. This is an addition to the previous contract inked in 2009, which originally only concerned the Russian carrier's fleet of A330s.

A logistical challenge
In parallel with this addition, a dedicated clause to the contract was signed with Vladivostok Air for a one-off intervention. The intervention involved carrying out engine repairs during an aircraft C-check. Special about the job is that it is to be done in the Russian airline's workshop in Siberia. "This was a real challenge, notably from the logistics angle," explains Sergiy Kovalchuck, AFI KLM E&M Northern and Eastern Europe Sales Manager. "Above and beyond our engine shops in Paris and Amsterdam, our ability to export our expertise to Siberia is further proof of our adaptiveness. That is what convinced Vladivostok Air to sign with AFI KLM E&M again."

Adaptiveness and quality
Technical Director Vladivostok Air Mr. Matsenko said, "Both in terms of the contract extension and the special new clause, AFI KLM E&M was able to stand out from the competition thanks to its ability to adapt to our requirements and providing us with tailor made services. In particular, AFI KLM E&M included the lease of a replacement engine while the repairs are being carried out, which is not the case with its local competitors." AFI KLM E&M VP Sales Northern and Eastern Europe Pierre Teboul adds: "We now have a partnership with Vladivostok Air for more than two years and are proud to say that they have again decided to entrust us with a wider array of maintenance work for a greater number of engines".
