Aircraft Noise and Flight Track Monitoring Systems

Our current research project is called MODAL (Modelle und Daten zur Entwicklung aktiver Schallschutzmaßnahmen im Luftverkehr) which means: "Models and data for the development of active noise abatement measures in air traffic"

In co-operation with Lufthansa, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the airports Köln/Bonn, Frankfort, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Berlin Airports and Munich Airport an improved acoustical database will be worked out which allows more exact calculations of noise-reduced flight procedures. With these calculations changed flight procedures shall be better estimated in the future.

Topsonic’s task is preparing the data from all airports and to provide them for DLR.
