atg airports supply new Helipad Lighting System to Ukraine

atg airports, a leading provider of airfield lighting solutions, is delighted to announce the completion of a prestigious new helipad lighting project in Kiev, Ukraine.

The turnkey solution will not only include atg's Micro 100, one of the airfield lighting market's most reliable and efficient constant current regulators, alongside the associated transformers and connector kits. atg airports engineering team also produced a bespoke lighting control panel designed specifically for the project, providing complete control over each helipad and all ancillary equipment. As well as the high-end ancillary equipment, atg airports supplied a number of ZA295 LED TLOF luminaires, which will provide a lower power consumption, higher efficiency and reliability than its equivalents.

With Ukraine acting as a joint host of UEFA Euro 2012, a number of developments have been necessary to help cope with the inevitable influx of fans and visitors from across Europe. The two new systems have been installed at Kiev Centrum, close to the office of the Ukrainian President and ideally located to provide his guests and other esteemed dignitaries with a quick and convenient route in and out of the city.

Working in conjunction with DSG Belgium and DSG Ukraine, who were responsible for managing the construction of the two new helipads, the project was delivered on time and ready for the official opening. Joined by the Ukrainian Minster for Transport and representatives from the parties involved, the opening included a rescue demonstration and the landing of the first two helicopters.
