The International Airport Dusseldorf has launched delair‘s software so- lution for planning of follow-me vehicles

The Airport Dusseldorf has successfully started operation of delair’s software solution sally-mobile in order to plan the assignment of follow-me vehicles. sally-mobile consists of two components: the disposition system and the mobile display in the vehicle. The disposition system automatically generates the orders for the follow-me vehicles on the basis of flightplan data. Tablet computers are used as the mobile system component which indicate the orders to be edited by the driver via the corresponding input. The system can be operated in two modes: automatic generating and allocation of orders or automatic generating of orders with autonomous takeover of orders by the follow-me drivers, this being the preferred version at the Airport Dusseldorf.

Jorg Fruhner, project manager of the Airport Dusseldorf GmbH, says: „The convincing function- ality of sally-mobile allowed us to take the system into operations without any problems. The dispatchers as well as the drivers have accepted sally-mobile immediately from the beginning.“ With the implementation of sally-mobile at the Airport Dusseldorf the manual planning, coordi- nation and order transfer by the dispatcher may be dropped completely in order to assign time to other tasks by the the dispatchers.
