TONI Bird Control Solutions, NOV 2012 edition newsletter presents its new Bird Control Training and Management Systems for Airports.  This online bird control-training program certifies staff, as well as providing managers with bird/wildlife control information guidance that is consistent throughout all personnel levels.

The Bird Control Training and Management System has several key areas that provide comprehensive training, testing, and information sharing.  The four tiers in TONI Bird Control Training and Management Systems for Airports are Training Modules, My Documents, Shared Area for Your Airport, and Bird Control Wiki.  Each individual segment navigated through the Cockpit has distinct purposes consisting of the following:

My Documents is where participants can access their test, view test scores, and obtain training certificates.  Testing is highly important as it ensures information comprehension.  TONI’s tests are structured to ensure BCU and additional staff members work through the program in detail and to build a consistent and reliable knowledge on the matter.

Shared Area for Your Airport consists of advanced bird control shared information for organizational use.  This section is where annual risk assessment and other forms of material are available for airport staff, in order to better define bird/wildlife concerns.  The different sections allow documentation and analytical programs deciphering, which enhances subject-matter understandings.  

Bird Control Wiki is a bird/wildlife control knowledge gathering questions and answers forum.  This section inspires inquiring minds to collaborate on various topics concerning bird/wildlife.  Questions can be raised by any team member, hence helping to develop a team knowledge base. 

By training BCU staff and creating a knowledge database on birds and bird behaviour, a seemless bird control management becomes much easier. One of the most important prerequisites is a solid data building. This will become possible with a new APP-based documentation system for BCU staff.
