Boon Edam has been successful in securing an order for the new Doha International Airport in Qatar, envisioned to become a major international gateway to the Middle East.

Sky Oryx, a joint venture between TAV (Tepe Akfen) and Taisei, awarded Boon Edam’s Iranian distributor, Achilandoor with the order to supply and install 16 high capacity Duotour revolving doors into the main façade of the new terminal building. Working closely with the project consultants, Bechte and Sky Oryx since 2006, Boon Edam and Achilandoor have worked through various design stages to create the perfect entrance solution for this state of the art airport terminal.

Combining high capacity with energy savings, the Duotour revolving door creates an environmentally and user friendly entrance, ideal for airport terminal buildings.

The Duotour revolving doors are currently being manufactured for the new Doha International Airport project at the Boon Edam factory in Edam, Holland.

Revolving doors create an optimum solution to separate the outside and the inside of a building. The Duotour revolving door is always open for people to pass through, but always closed to the external elements such as sand/dust, noise and weather outside. Revolving doors create and maintain the climate within a building, while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

The new Doha International Airport is scheduled to open in July 2011, and will see over 12 million passengers per year passing through the Boon Edam revolving doors.
