SAS International introduces updated and enhanced Acoustic Baffle Systems

Ideal for acoustic treatment in open, exposed interiors and thermal mass cooling, the new systems are not only high performing but offer a visually engaging design. System 500 and System 510 allow for a different ceiling aesthetic in comparison to a traditional suspended ceiling. Dual-sided perforations deliver excellent acoustic performance (0.85 α, NRC 0.9), especially in noisy surroundings, such as airports, where additional absorption is required.

Both System 500 and 510 are available in all RAL colours and can be suspended at a range of heights and angles. The striking waveform of System 510 is a stark contrast to the linear form of System 500 and allows the baffles to form individual elements or continual rhythmic lines stretching across a ceiling plane.

System 500 and 510 do not impede smoke extraction or air ventilation systems and are therefore well suited in areas with high human traffic, including retail, leisure, and education facilities. Ease of integration with other ceiling systems and the ability to visually zone areas make both systems also attractive options for commercial offices. Solar shading can also be achieved using SAS baffles, ideal for large open areas like malls or atriums where the management of the solar glare as well as acoustics is required for occupant comfort.

An increased range of supporting acoustic test data is now available. The System 500 range will be expanded upon later in the year.
