Airport Noise Monitoring / Flight Tracking - CDM Solutions

Company Casper Sustainable Aero Solutions
Date 24.02.2015

Last October Casper was awarded the contract to deliver Casper Noise to the Dutch CAA for monitoring noise abatement regulations for the four largest Dutch airports.

The solution includes merging four radar feeds for the entire Dutch airspace and monitoring all noise abatement rules for four different airports.

The noise abatement procedures include monitoring of tracks within corridors including a different set of departure corridors for day and night time operation and arrival corridors for night time arrivals.

One of the responsibilities of the Dutch CAA is to monitor the compliance of tracks within these corridors and investigate the root cause of the deviation from a corridor, if not caused by a valid ATC reason, so appropriate measures can be taken. To enable the CAA to analyze corridor deviations Casper Noise was extended with functionality to integrate radio communication between the air traffic controller and the pilot (R/T). Furthermore, Casper Noise was enhanced with the ability to export maps, flight profiles and flights directly to MS Word templates, to communicate this information to the relevant stakeholders efficiently.

The Casper Noise system was delivered to the Dutch CAA by the beginning of February 2015.
