Airport Passenger and Ground Handling Automation Solutions

The Babel GUI Common Language Front-End and Embark Automated Gate Boarding solutions have been adopted for a number of the carriers handled by Azzurra on the Common Use platform at London's Heathrow Terminal 4.

The staged implementation has already started and will eventually cover the following airlines:

• Malaysia Airlines
• SriLankan Airlines
• Gulf Air
• Air Malta
• Uzbekistan Airways
• Azerbaijan Airlines

The common GUI interface means Azzurra will benefit from increased staff flexibility for the check-in and boarding of different carriers, with greatly reduced training required for the various host DCS systems.

With major changes underway at LHR, Azzurra could also see more benefits from Babel and Embark in future. Both products are certified on all the major CUTE vendors’ platforms, so Azzurra will be able to continue using them if any of these airlines are relocated to different terminals in the airport, regardless of the Common Use provider.
