Aviator recently won the contract with Monarch Airlines at Birmingham International Airport for ground handling services and required a cost-effective departure control system for their predicted 800,000 per year passengers.

Having worked with Aviator on several projects recently, we were delighted when they choose to implement our fully hosted Damarel L-DCS system to fulfil this requirement. We were able to achieve a rapid roll-out and minimise the costs and overheads of local IT by hosting the system in Damarel’s data centre. This also allows Aviator to make use of their own and Damarel’s connectivity to all required back-end systems such as Type-B, e-borders and BSM Messages.

We have a dedicated secure VPN facility, giving Damarel immediate access to investigate and resolve any potential issues.

The time airline passengers spend on the ground before take-off is a major part of their overall travel experience, and L-DCS will help us provide a good, professional service during their journey. The installation, cut-over and roll-out of the system has been very effective.”

L-DCS is a proven low-cost departure control system, first installed in 1997 at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas. The first fully hosted system was implemented in 2013. L-DCS is used by over 50 Airlines worldwide, to process tens of millions of passengers every year.
