As a system partner for international airports, Wanzl offers a first-class service: the company is a premium supplier to more than 200 airports throughout the world and now holds a significant market share in the international airport sector. From the first planning phase to the handover of a turnkey solution, Wanzl offers its partners complete service for landside and airside luggage trolleys, trolley management, trolley circulation, trolley tracking, trolley protection and passenger guidance systems. Wanzl recently acquired three new customers in the form of the airports in Bangkok (Thailand), Chitose (Japan) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Wanzl supplied Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok with 7,000 Voyager 3000 luggage trolleys for the public area and 2,000 Easy 88 luggage trolleys for the security-controlled airside area. All luggage trolleys are fitted with RFID transponders, which enable trolley tracking, monitoring of luggage trolley movements in the passenger terminal, as well as maintenance and inventory cycles of the equipment used.

New Chitose Airport in Japan is also introducing Voyager 3000 luggage trolleys. Wanzl is supplying the the model for Chitose with numerous customer-specific features. For instance, due to the proximity to Sapporo with its ski resorts, a ski holder has been integrated. Additional advertising space on the sides of the trolley ensure the greatest possible potential for advertising revenue from the 1,300 luggage trolleys in operation.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah opted for the Wanzl Travel 300 BL model: 3,500 luggage trolleys guarantee convenient luggage transport in the various terminals. Due to the many different requirements of the terminals, some of the trolleys have been fitted with a Wanzl travelator castor at the front. For the purpose of continuous maintenance and inventory monitoring, RFID has been incorporated into these luggage trolleys as well. Airport Scooter collection devices support the service with regard to clearance, transport and provision of the luggage trolleys.
