These smiles were after go-live…

Ink were appointed as the DCS provider only 3 weeks before going live in Faro, Portugal. Although Ink already had a presence in Faro, an ARINC operated airport, we still needed to work with a new Wide Area Network (WAN) connection which meant integrating from scratch.

We worked with Blue Chip, the trusted IT provider to Jet2, to quick plan and order the WAN connection into the airport. This was followed by only 1 day of DCS training before live operations began, supervised by Janet who is fluent in Portuguese – something that the local staff definitely appreciated. Jet2 were pleased with our proactive approach to introducing the system and the flexibility we showed in adapting to their operation.

Their friendly staff, some of whom were new to check-in quickly took to the system and were able to be productive from the first minute of the first day. As frequency increases, Ink will continue to support their operational staff but the ease of use means that this requirement is minimal.

Even savings from Ink's capability to eliminate of the need for a CUTE Workstation on the Sales Desk contribute to lowering costs. The introduction of iPads will also help raise customer service and allow Jet2 to service their customers at the point of need. Ink already operate Jet2 flights in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Budapest where we seamlessly support their Web checked-in passengers via PNL Check-in.
