PANSA, the air navigation service provider (ANSP) in Poland, has awarded a contract to Quintiq to provide its integrated Quintiq Workforce Planning Solution for Air Traffic Control. Quintiq was selected through the EU open tender process as having the best solution for this purpose.

The system will be implemented across 11 operational centres in Poland and will plan all staff requirements, rostering and Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) position planning. The system will allow PANSA to make more efficient use of their resources and help to improve their service capability. It takes into account the relevant national labor laws and union agreements and can also incorporate staff preferences in regard to their working schedules.

Krzysztof Banaszek, CEO of PANSA, said: “We are pleased to have completed the procedure and to select a leading provider of solutions concerning the planning and optimization of employees working time. We expect benefits arising from this implementation, especially an enhancement of the quality of our services, further improvement in the efficiency and an optimal planning of our staff.”

Arjen Heeres, COO of Quintiq, welcomed PANSA as another member of the growing list of ANSPs which are using the Quintiq solutions to plan their workforce. He says: “Already over 30% of the world’s airspace is managed by ANSP’s using Quintiq solutions. The Quintiq workforce planning solutions have been shown to be completely adaptable to the needs and cultures of organizations in all parts of the world. A major reason for our success in this market is our ability to provide a 100% fit to our users’ differing requirements.”
