All eyes are on Brazil as it hosts one of the greatest international sporting events in the world.

The country expects to receive somewhere in the region of four million air passengers during the FIFA World Cup. It has invested $17b into its mass transit to prepare for the demands of the tourist influx during the next few weeks, including a huge $306 expansion of Brasília International Airport, and the construction of the brand new Greater Natal International Airport in the Rio Grande do Norte region.

For these two key Brazilian airports, Infraero needed comfortable seating that not only was up to the challenge of coping with World Cup passenger traffic, but would also endure to meet the demands of Olympic tourism when the country hosts the Games in 2016.

Zoeftig’s beautifully robust Zenky range, with its distinguished polished arms and legs, was specified for both airports in standard and recliner seat models, all hand-upholstered in Brazilian green vinyl.

Brasilia International Airport – whose new wing was officially opened by the country’s President Rousseff just a few weeks ago – says the expansion provides passengers with an area of 20 thousand square metres, with comfortable seats, conveyor belts that facilitate moving around, shops and renewed services.

The chief of Brasilia Airport, Alysson Paolinelli declared, “I feel proud when I see passengers' faces when they arrive in this new area, the thrill they get, the reports show that we're on the right track…"
