Zenky+ for new Central Pier at Bristol Airport

Company Zoeftig
Date 25.09.2014

Zoeftig installed several hundred seats, benches and tables at Bristol International this Summer, in preparation for the opening of the airport’s new £6.5 million central walkway.

The new pier, which connects directly to the departure lounge, was opened last month (July) and was built to help ease congestion in the departure lounge at peak travel times, and enhance the passenger experience.

The 3,880 sqm development includes four new light-filled pre-boarding areas with floor-to-ceiling glass walls for great views, plus food & drink vending, toilet facilities and plenty of Zoeftig seating to keep waiting passengers comfortable.

With 646,000 passengers traveling through Bristol Airport in the month before the walkway was opened, the airport recorded its busiest June ever this year. The new central pier will help cope with growing demand and also enable the airport to handle larger, long-haul aircraft in the future.

“New facilities are in place to ensure we maintain service levels as passenger numbers continue to grow, and we are already focusing on further improvements we can bring to the route network from Bristol.” Shaun Browne, Aviation Director for Bristol Airport.

Further work on extending the current terminal building is expected to take place next year.
