Biometrics experts, Human Recognition Systems (HRS) will be speaking, and exhibiting their popular aviation products, at the prestigious annual Transport Security Expo (TRANSEC) event in Olympia, London between 13 – 14 September.

Transport Security Expo is a leading international event to focus upon the complex task of ensuring our public transportation and commercial supply chain networks remain protected from acts of terrorism and incidence of organised criminal activity.

Jim Slevin, aviation business unit manager for HRS, will speak on the first day's workshop programme about 'Identity Solutions Enhancing Security and Improving Operational Performance'. He will demonstrate how the suite of MFlow products provide substantial returns on investment to aviation clients wanting to increase airport security while optimising operational infrastructure and improving passenger experience.

“This presentation will introduce the audience to the security and business possibilities of biometric deployments in aviation settings. How, for example, MFlow Exit Lanes can prevent anti back-tracking, (as at Manchester and Newcastle airports), and MFlow Track can speed up the security process while increasing levels of accuracy thanks to multi-modal biometrics, which combine face and iris,” explains Jim.

One of the HRS case studies will cover the requirements of the UK Border Agency (UKBA): for the reconciliation of passengers through a common departure lounge while simultaneously providing an automated solution to reduce airport manpower requirements.

“In this case,” says Jim, “HRS provided a solution to meet the airport and its stakeholders' exacting standards by deploying MFlow Track, which is integrated with MFlow Journey to provide accurate business intelligence and security queue measurement allowing more effective decisions to be made about the required volume of staff.”

Audience members keen to learn about emerging trends will be fascinated by Jim's closing remarks, which will assess the very real probability of ticketless travel. What will this look like? What needs to be achieved to create an excellent passenger experience without risking security levels?

“We firmly believe that there is realistic scope for introducing a single check for travel combined with multi-modal biometric security processes (including check-in and bag drop) , which would displace tickets for the majority of people to create a seamless but much more secure travel experience,” explains Jim.

“And from the business perspective, this would lead to increased profitability having reduced unnecessary expenditure.”

During the exhibition, HRS will demonstrate its suite of MFlow products: MFlow Track, Exit Lanes, Journey,  Detect, 360 and Jim Slevin and business development director, James Saxton will be available to discuss transport-focused products at stand C6. Special requirements for one-to-one consultations can also be arranged during – and outside of – the conference by emailing rob.cummerson@hrsid.com
