Airport Security and Passenger Flow Solutions

Date 17.03.2011

Human Recognition Systems (HRS) will attend the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) exhibition, the UK's premier event for showcasing world-leading technologies and solutions for law enforcement and public security applications.

Now in its 31st year, the HOSDB 2011 exhibition provides the unique opportunity to source technology and solutions from more than 400 companies showcasing the latest specialist security products, technology and services.

HRS will showcase the biometric product that scooped first prize in the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism’s INSTINCT Technology Demonstrator 2 (TD2) project in February. Produced in partnership with SRI International's 'Biometrics In Motion', the iris recognition solution will be demonstrated at the affiliated TD2 exhibition, a short distance from the main HOSDB venue in Farnborough, Hampshire.

TD2 was originally organised in December last year but owing to the severe weather conditions, many attendees weren't able to access the event. As a result, the Home Office has facilitated a re-run in conjunction with HOSDB.

CEO of HRS, Neil Norman said:

“Attending a prestigious event like this is a great way to demonstrate our technology. It allows anyone who is interested in fully understanding its value – in security and in investment terms – to explore the product for themselves and our experts will be on-hand to answer questions.”

In partnership with UK Trade & Investment Defence & Security Organisation, this exhibition is the UK's only closed, secure event for the engagement of UK and international police and security professionals with the pinnacle of the UK security industry.

Focus at HOSDB is given to the Home Office priority areas:

  • Security and counter terrorism
  • Crime and policing
  • Border security and immigration control

The event is attended by Home Office agreement only, allowing visitors to discuss operational requirements with exhibitors who can demonstrate more sensitive equipment in confidence.

This closed government event provides a world class opportunity to meet, network and discuss the latest advances in delivering national security and resilience with UK suppliers, colleagues and government officials from across the world.
