The 14th edition of Airport Show to be held in Dubai from May 11 to 13 will be an ideal platform for aviation industry professionals to explore the latest innovations and breakthrough technology with several global exhibitors utilizing the B2B event to launch a wide range of products and solutions.

Dubai’s iconic airports-focused exhibition will offer visitors glimpses into technology-enabled transformations in the aviation industry and provides an opportunity to regional airports and aviation infrastructure players to explore the rapid technological advancement to face tough competition, increase efficiencies and deliver better passenger experiences. For the Middle East airports aiming to handle 400 million passengers by 2020, technology is a way out to emerge as successful aviation hubs of the 21st century.

From the latest aircraft ground energy systems to cutting-edge solutions in baggage handling and the newest trends for aircraft individual identification, Airport Show will showcase over 20 new products and technologies at the 2014 edition.

The Airport Show-2014 will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Global Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF) and Travel Catering Expo (TCE) are co-located events. This year’s Show will take place on 12,000 square metres of gross exhibition space with 250 exhibitors from 35 countries, six national pavilions and over 100 Hosted Buyers. In 2013, the Show attracted about 6,500 visitors.

Intos of Netherlands will launch the Space-saving Search Cabin for airports. Selex ES will unveil Di-BOSS, the next-generation Digital Building Operating System Solution that optimizes energy consumption to save money and increase security without sacrificing comfort, while DTP will unveil Airport Common Use Service (ACUS), a highly competitive, next-generation common use solution, enabling passenger processing systems to be accessed anywhere on demand (both within and outside the airport terminal).

ADB Airfield Solutions will introduce LED PAPI, the world’s first PAPI that lights up almost instantly when switched on, and is virtually moisture- and frost-free, thus resolving operational issues in colder climates.

Beumer Group Middle East will showcase new techniques including on-demand sorting of baggage to enable speed loading of ULDs and trolleys, as well as introducing a new approach to Early Baggage Storage (EBS).

Clean Air will launch AirQlean H, a ceiling-mounted air filtration system which efficiently traps ascending smoke gases and particles, which creates a better air cleaning solution for existing smoking rooms.

Estel, the new GPU unit from Tallinn Electrical Engineering Factory, will showcase a new series of its latest ground power unit (GPU) products developed to meet the increasing demands of future aircrafts.

CONRAC will be showcasing an innovative new display concept featuring a protective front glass. The new cFPS concept (Flexible Pluggable Solution) allows a very quick and easy exchange of the entire electronics, without the need of even a single screw.

FMT will showcase the latest invention in the field of Advanced Visual Docking Guidance. The new invention is called Aircraft Individual Identification.

Huawei Technologies will introduce Based on Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and five architectural innovations.  Huawei Technologies will also launch a cost-effective 3-in-1 HD videoconferencing endpoint.

Hugentobler Spezialleuchten AG will showcase a Heliport product – a landing place light called Helios. A second product for the airport is called Centerline RCL. It is an optical illumination in the center of the track as an indication for pilots.

Switzerland’s Istinox will introduce Aircraft Ground Energy System (AGES), the world's first totally integrated system for the supply of 400 Hz power and pre-conditioned air to aircrafts on the ground.

Maini Group, the leader in electrically operated in-campus material and people movement solutions, will launch aircraft electric tow tugs of eight tonnes capacity class.  It will also showcase a wheel chair buggy to transfer PRM (people with reduced mobility) in airport terminals and on the tarmac.

SICK FZE will be showcasing the Sick Sensor Solutions for Self-bag drop systems for the first time in the Middle East. This system demonstrates the company’s competence in sensors and sensor solutions as an essential part of modern self-bag drop systems.

Smiths Detection will launch a dual-view X-ray inspection for hand luggage. The newest EU Standard 2 Type-C approved X-ray system features automatic explosive detection and a new ergonomic interface for operators. Together with high quality pictures this supports an easy and smooth operation, due to the compact footprint even in places where space is restricted.

NEC Display Solutions Europe will showcase its 6th generation intelligent airport display systems.  Among the products on display will be next generation low power 32 to 84-inch LED UHD displays with integrated NFC and human presence sensors.
