Modernization of passenger processing system aims to enhance passenger experience

Singapore—ARINC Incorporated today announced that it has been appointed to implement multiple airport systems at the Port Moresby International Airport, also known as the Jacksons International Airport, in Papua New Guinea. ARINC’s industry-leading airport IT solutions will be deployed in both the International and Domestic Terminals as part of the airport’s aim to modernize the passenger processing system and enhance the passenger experience.

ARINC will be deploying several of its industry-leading solutions to create a stable and reliable airport infrastructure that can support the airport’s growth needs:

  • VeriPax™ – Passenger Reconciliation System
  • vMUSE™ – next generation passenger processing solution
  • AirVue™ – multimedia flight information display system
  • AirDB™ – airport database for flight data management

"ARINC’s proven expertise and depth of experience working with airports of all sizes across Asia was a key factor in our selection decision. We are confident that with the deployment of these solutions, we will be able to improve the passenger experience, streamline the passenger reconciliation processes and strengthen security at the airport. Most importantly, it enables us to provide a consistent model for passenger processing for all airlines that operate at the Port Moresby Airport,” said Joseph Kintau, Managing Director of National Airport Corporation (NAC).

Mr. Michael DiGeorge, Managing Director of ARINC in Asia Pacific said, "We look forward to the collaboration as we support Port Moresby Airport in their efforts to improve the passenger experience, infrastructure and security at the airport. ARINC is committed to delivering and providing best-of-breed airport solutions to meet the end-to-end needs of all its customers, from the world’s largest to the smallest airports."

The Port Moresby International Airport is also planning to build a new International Terminal to handle growth in passenger traffic. The new terminal is expected to be completed in time for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting that is to be hosted in Papua New Guinea in 2018.
