Airport Terminal Interior Fitting and Completion

At the end of 2014, INTOS entered a cooperation with Nike EMEA (Head office Europe, Middle East & Africa), located in Hilversum. In the interim period, four floors of offices and an entrance hall have experienced a metamorphosis in which the specific (design) vision of Nike has clearly come to the fore. The creativity of the client, linked with the professional skills of INTOS, has led to the forging of a good working relationship.

An interesting aspect of the projects was that we were introduced to Nike’s original and single-minded design vision. The plans were developed in full consultation with the architect, but Nike had a lot of influence on the choice of materials, manufacture and appearance of the customised work. For example, great importance was attached to honest, raw materials and materials from a recognisable source. Special furniture was made from untreated steel components, solid wood tops and upholstery using recycled materials.

Because the projects followed each other in rapid succession, the cooperation between the client, architect and contractor was, due to the tight time frame, very intense. As such, an alteration or addition only required a few words or a rough sketch for everyone to understand what was required and respond quickly.

The result is a number of splendid floors of offices, a renewed three-floor entrance hall, a restaurant and a Starbucks sales point. In addition, INTOS regularly receives requests to make individual display cabinets or counters for various European locations.

A good basis for the future has been laid. This is due, in part, to everyone being aware of each other’s qualities!
