Airport Towing Trucks For Material Handling

Company Jungheinrich AG
Date 05.05.2011
Jungheinrich presents an all-embracing Fleet Management System for the first time at CeMAT 2011.

The new Jungheinrich fleet management system is called ISM Online (information system for truck management). The system is able to manage, analyse and optimise truck fleets independent of their size and complexity. Jungheinrich has created a tool that allows the user to increase transparency and safety in his own warehouse and to control his truck fleet more efficiently across several sites – also country-overlapping.

It is possible to call off information anywhere in the world

Access to the respective data is via the Jungheinrich management portal in a protected internet sector. This facilitates calling off information at virtually any location in the world. ISM Online combines commercial information as well as application and shock data of all trucks in a fleet. “Due to high data transparency of this system, the user will in future be able to lower the operating costs of his fleet significantly“, says Dr. Helmut Limberg, Member of the Board of Management, Sales and Marketing, at Jungheinrich.

Individually combinable modules

ISM Online consists of four different, individually combinable modules designed for different requirements of users. The basis module provides the user with a site-overlapping overview of all master data for his fleet, contracts and equipment characteristics. Apart from the number and age of his trucks per location, this module also shows the total costs of the fleet “at the touch of a button“. A detailed list of costs can also be obtained with the operating costs module developed specially for this purpose. The user also receives information about invoices, operating hours and service reports.

The safety and productivity modules complete the Jungheinrich ISM Online product portfolio. It will in future be possible not only to document forced damage overall but also to address them directly through access control, driver administration and shock recording. Helmut Limberg: “This will also increase the drivers‘ sense of responsibility. Apart from significantly more safety in the warehouse, it follows that this will also reduce costs caused by improper use of trucks.“ The reports of the productivity module will let the user verify and optimise the actual utilisation of his fork lift trucks.

Both the safety and productivity modules are used in combination with truck components. These record access, operation and shock data and transmit them via a so-called gateway to the Jungheinrich management portal. Here they are combined with the commercial data and so form a comprehensive information basis for the user.

User-friendly web surface

ISM Online is operated web-based and intuitively. Simple, clearly laid out charts and tables lighten the work with the fleet management system. It is designed for controlling Jungheinrich fleets as well as mixed fleets. Helmut Limberg: “Our all-embracing fleet management helps the users to manage their fork lift trucks efficiently and thus save ready money.”

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is a service provider with manufacturing operations as well as an intralogistics solution provider, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and consulting. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
