Airport Two-Way Communications/Radios

DMR (digital mobile radio) gives you 2 timeslots over a 12.5KHz channel whereas analogue gave you only 1. Dividing the slots up over time (TDMA) with each slot alternating every 30mS, you can have 2 simultaneous voice or data paths. Some of the benefits of this include reduced licencing costs and reduced infrastructure costs (if working through central infrastructure like a repeater).
