Driver Access Control

Improved safety, minimised fork lift idle time, lower fleet running and ownership costs and reduced unauthorised operation. These are just a few of the benefits that you’ll enjoy with the Davis Derby TruckLOG Driver Access Control module.

This flexible system enables you to set permission levels governing the use of your entire fork lift truck fleet. To make trucks operable, drivers must log on by entering their PIN or Smart Card into the on–board device. In conjunction with other modules, the system can store valuable management information – which in turn raises driver accountability and driving standards. A vehicle’s status such as logged in or inactive is shown by an LED indicator and there’s an idle time–out facility which can save fuel and battery power and prevent unauthorised use. This can be set at between 1 and 254 minutes.

Flexible

Truck–mounted devices can be retro–fitted or installed during manufacture. Choose between a keypad for PIN entry log on or, for even greater functionality and expansion options, the Smart Card reader. Both systems offer engineer vehicle off road (VOR) control.

Robust

Driver Access Control is designed for a whole range of materials handling environments from retail and wholesale operations to builder’s merchants and manufacturing plants. Accordingly the systems are robust and sealed for use in harsh indoor and outdoor conditions including wet and dusty atmospheres. A cold store version is also available.

Logging on

PIN keypads will recognise up to 226 five–digit codes which can be entered or deleted on the truck–mounted device. All your drivers need to do is memorise their unique PIN code.

Smart Cards

For extended functionality and reporting features, select the Smart Card option. This can accommodate up to 99,999 users, with each card able to store the driver's name, up to 16 truck types and 14 departments. Smart Cards are created using the Smart Card Allocator connected to the computer running the system's administration software.

Smart Cards also offer the additional benefits of pre-operation check buttons and a programmable expiry date facility.

Designed to comply with health & safety regulations governing pre-operational checks on MHE equipment, the pre-operation check buttons provide paperless audits and evidence of your drivers' requirements to complete pre-operational checks prior to using trucks. This information is then uploaded to your drivers' records.

The programmable expiry date facility allows you to determine the date on which your drivers' authorisation to operate vehicles ceases. This allows you to plan retraining and management of your staff and contract drivers across your business operations.

Damage/No damage log on function

Red and green buttons on the Smart Card’s truck–mounted device allow drivers to report vehicle damage to supervisory staff. Pressing the green button when logging on confirms that no damage was detected before use. Logging on with the red button however, informs the supervisor of damage. The stricken truck may then be disabled by a ‘vehicle off road’ (VOR) Smart Card.
