Remote Hour Meter

Designed for the materials handling vehicle service provider, the TruckLOG Remote Hour Meter has replaced guesswork with accurate data: over and under serving costs and calendar-based service intervals are out; effortless billing and actual hour–based service schedules are in.

Whether you lease fleets on a long, short or by–the–hour basis, the Remote Hour Meter can improve the services you provide to your customers and the return on your vehicle investment.

The material benefits

Forget manual meter readings. The Remote Hour Meter provides automated readings which you can schedule on a daily, weekly or monthly basis via FTP to an internet server or SMS to a mobile phone. You can also call up readings on demand wherever a two–way GSM/GPRS network exists. This means you can raise more regular and accurate invoices. It also means that you can help clients operate fleets more cost effectively. Identifying usage trends from vehicle log-on hours for example, can enable clients to avoid under or over–usage of a particular vehicle. Email alerts will enable you to keep customers informed about unused or exceeded contract hours, helping you to optimise lease agreements to their specific needs. Remote immobilisation meanwhile, allows you to protect your assets during maintenance and prevent unauthorised use.

Giving customers – and fleets – a better service

Because you will know exactly how many hours a given truck has been in use, you can schedule vehicle servicing with far more precision than that allowed by calendar–based intervals. And, as data provided by the Remote Hour Meter highlights your clients’ least busy working periods, your engineers can schedule their visits at the least disruptive times.

Expanding remote hour metering

The electronics that drive the Remote Hour Meter are reliable and flexible. They can be adapted to suit specific vehicle interfaces such as CANbus, J 1939, CANopen and provide additional data such as service diagnostics. This in turn enables you to equip and deploy the most appropriate engineers to site visits.

We can work with you to develop a bespoke asset control and maintenance scheduling system specific to the needs of your environment and working practices.

Fleets used outdoors can also be fitted with an optional GPS module for tracking vehicle location.

Note: With TruckLOG Remote Hour Meter, time recording commences in line with factory–fitted vehicle meters. These vary between ‘ignition on’ and ‘ignition on with traction’.
