In the past few years there has been a shift of opinion by Airport Design Engineers firmly towards air displacement ventilation systems in terminal buildings. This is partly due to the prime need for comfort conditions for passengers despite the inclusion of consistent glass facade which needs the inherent design features of displacement type diffusers to achieve passenger comfort from air movement devices in the passenger lounge areas.
It is important for Strulik engineers to be involved in the early design stages as some conceptual matters need agreement in regard to location and positioning in order to satisfy eventual client approval. At a later stage the overall systems can be analysed and validated by simulation technology.
This procedure has on other projects of a similar application enabled air volumes to be 50% of original values thereby saving considerably on energy costs – so vital these days to the user.
